Vaibhav Suryavanshi – Cricketer

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, born on March 27, 2011, in Motipur village, Samastipur district, Bihar, is a left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. His cricketing journey began at the tender age of four, initially coached by his father before joining a cricket academy in Samastipur at nine.

At just 12 years and 284 days, Vaibhav made his first-class debut for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy in January 2024, becoming the youngest Indian to do so since 1986. His prodigious talent caught the attention of the Rajasthan Royals, who signed him in the 2025 IPL auction. On April 28, 2025, he etched his name into the record books by scoring a blistering 101 runs off 38 balls against the Gujarat Titans, making him the youngest centurion in IPL history and the second-fastest overall, behind only Chris Gayle.

Vaibhav's technique, characterized by a high backlift and exceptional bat speed, has drawn comparisons to legends like Brian Lara. His fearless approach and ability to handle pace have impressed coaches and cricketing greats alike. Despite his rapid rise, experts like Rahul Dravid emphasise the importance of nurturing his talent carefully to ensure long-term success.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's journey from a small village in Bihar to the grand stages of the IPL serves as an inspiration to aspiring cricketers across the nation, embodying the spirit of determination and excellence.
