Kaziranga National Park

Assam

Kaziranga National Park, located in Assam, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exceptional wildlife diversity and conservation efforts. It harbours the world’s largest population of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros and serves as a vital habitat for tigers, elephants, panthers, wild buffaloes, and sloth bears. The park's vast floodplains and grasslands, nourished by the Brahmaputra River, also support thousands of migratory and resident bird species. Kaziranga’s relatively undisturbed natural environment offers a rare refuge for flora and fauna, making it a globally important site for ecological preservation and a symbol of India’s rich natural heritage.
