Anagha J. Kolath (Malayalam)
Anagha J. Kolath, born on December 18, 1994, in Pala, Kerala, is a Malayalam poet and social worker. She completed her schooling at Pala Sakthivilasam NSS School, Kitangur, and earned degrees in English and Malayalam from Government Women's College, Thiruvananthapuram, and the School of Letters.
Anagha started writing poetry in second grade and gained recognition for her recitations in Guruvayoor Devaswom competitions, winning the prestigious Suvarna Mudra (Golden Seal) in 2013. With the encouragement of writer K. Jayakumar, she published her first poetry collection, Njan Arinja Kadal, in 2014 and released a poetry CD, Kavyamritham. Her literary contributions include stories and articles across various platforms, earning her several awards like the Akashvani Yuvavani Award, Punaloor Balan Award, and K. M. Sukumaran Memorial Award.
In 2022, Anagha was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for her poetry collection Mezhukuthirikku Swantham Theeppetti, which beautifully explores the metaphorical relationship between a candle and a matchstick. She also founded the NGO 'Hrudaya,' focusing on social service and academic innovation. Her work blends traditional and modern themes, showcasing her ability to capture life’s essence through elegant, expressive language.
