Atul Kumar Rai, Born on 19 February 1992 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh is a Hindi novelist, screenwriter, Musician, and lyricist. A versatile writer, Rai holds a Master’s degree in Performing Arts from Banaras Hindu University. He is known for making a strong entry to Hindi literature with his popular novel Chandpur Ki Chanda. The novel deftly weaves together themes like dowry, corruption, migration, and human relationships, all set against the backdrop of the rural town of Chandpur on the banks of the Sarayu River. With a compelling narrative and a sharp eye for detail, Rai has captivated readers, and his novel gained the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar was ranked second on the Dainik Jagran Nielsen Hindi bestseller list in 2023.
In addition to his literary success, Rai has made his mark in Bollywood, writing dialogues for the film Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga and earning the Best Writer Award at the Nirmal Pandey Film Festival for his short film The Suicide Note’. He continues to write on various contemporary topics on the editorial page of national newspapers and magazines like Dainik Jagran, and Dainik Bhaskar Aha Zindagi.
