CARNATIC INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC – VIOLIN
Shri Balaji Anantha Krishnan was born on 1 March 1984 at Chennai in Tamil Nadu. He received his training in Carnatic instrumental music - Violin from his grandfather Shri V.K. Venkata Ramanujam and father Shri V. Balaji. He has also received training in Carnatic vocal music under the tutelage of Shrimati Suguna Purushottaman and Shri O.S. Thyagarajan.
Shri Balaji Anantha Krishnan has performed in many prestigious music festivals in India and abroad, and has attended various seminars and lec-dems on Carnatic music.
Shri Balaji Anantha Krishnan has received many prestigious titles and awards. These include the Best Sub- Senior Violinist Award and Best Concert Award from the Music Academy, Chennai (Tamil Nadu), the Youth Excellence Award bestowed by the Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer Trust, Chennai, the Yuva Kala Bharathi by Bharath Kalachar, Chennai and the Villisai Virpanar Award given by Kumbakonam Vani Villas Sabha.
Shri B. Anantha Krishnan is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2022 for his notable talent in the field of Carnatic instrumental music - Violin.
