Hamiruddin Middya, born on January 14, 1997, in Bankura, West Bengal is Bengali fiction writer known for his deep insights into human emotions and rural life. An agriculturist by profession, Hamiruddin began writing in 2016 and has since published two acclaimed short story collections, Azrailer Daak and Mathrakha. His storytelling vividly captures the rich diversity of rural Bengal, particularly the 'Rath' region, and touches on themes of communal harmony and transformation. His use of the local dialect, 'Rarh Banga,' adds an authentic flavor to his work. His short story Kabar was adapted into a short film.

Mathrakha, his second collection, has brought him widespread recognition, earning him the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in 2023. His literary achievements include the Sandipan Chattopadhyay Smriti Puraskar and the Ila Chand Smriti Puraskar from Bangiya Sahitya Parishad. Known for his ability to express complex ideas with simplicity, Hamiruddin's work is celebrated for its portrayal of rural folk elements and its creative commentary on social transformation, making him a significant voice in contemporary Bengali literature.
