Shrimati I. Sweta Prasad was born on 4 March 1983 at Hyderabad in Telangana. She received her initial training in Carnatic music from Ramalakshmi Rangachary, Nethi Srirama Sarma and Pantula Rama. She also learnt Annamacharya Krithi from Shobha Raju.
An A Grade artist in the category of Carnatic music and Light music genres from the All India Radio, and an empanelled artist of ICCR, she has performed in many prestigious music festivals in India and overseas.
She has many recordings to her credit including Twameva Saranam released by Sanskriti Series, Kuchipudi Dance Songs and Bhamakalapam Vol. I and II released by Aditya Music.
Shrimati I. Sweta Prasad has received many titles and awards from various prestigious cultural institutions including the Ganaamritha Saagara bestowed by Gana Mukunda Priya, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Shrimati I. Sweta Prasad is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2022 for her notable talent in the field of Carnatic vocal music.
