Mandakranta Roy

BHARATANATYAM

Shrimati Mandakranta Roy was born on 30 January 1984 in Agartala, Tripura. She received her formal training in Bharatanatyam from Shrimati Hira Dey, Shrimati Thankamani Kutty and Shri C V Chandrashekhar. She is also formally trained in Rabindra Sangeet and Rabindra Nritya, Hindustani Vocal, and has obtained Visharad in Painting with distinction.

Shri Mandakranta Roy is an A+ Grade empanelled artist of Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Ministry of Culture, Kolkata. She was awarded with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) 2017- 2018 in Bharatanatyam, by Centre for Cultural Resource and Training. Shrimati Mandakranta Roy has performed in numerous prestigious festivals in India including the G-20 Programme organized by ICA Department, Government of Tripura at Neermahal; Udayshankar Dance Festival; Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Yog Parva during Amrit Mahotsav; Ghat Sandhya, Varanasi; Horizon Series Festival organized by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR); Octave Festival; Nirmahal Festival organized by ICAT, Government of Tripura. Shrimati Mandakranta Roy is a recipient of Sadhna Samman, Shankaradeva Rashtriya Samman, Nataraj Nritya Samman and Nritya Suvarna Kamal Samman.

Shrimati Mandakranta Roy is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2022 for her notable talent in the field of Bharatanatyam.
