Megha Majumdar, born on August 4, 1987, in Kolkata, is a renowned English fiction writer whose debut novel, A Burning, garnered international acclaim. After moving to the U.S. for her education, she earned degrees from Harvard and Johns Hopkins University. Now living in New York City, she served as the editor-in-chief of the online magazine Catapult.

Her debut novel, A Burning, became the New York Times bestseller and won the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar (2021) and the Whiting Award (2022).
