Somen Debnath
born on November 21, 1984, in Agartala, Tripura
Somen Debnath is an accomplished sculptor with a B.V.A. and M.F.A. in Sculpture. His work has been showcased in numerous national and international exhibitions, including Lalit Kala Akademi, AIFACS, and Jehangir Art Gallery. He has received prestigious awards such as the National Scholarship for Young Artists (2010) and the 63rd National Exhibition of Art Award by Lalit Kala Akademi (2023). Somen has also participated in several international wood carving symposiums and residencies, including in Switzerland and Germany. He continues to contribute to the art world through workshops and exhibitions globally.
