INTACH Releases Documentary “Kan-Kan Mein Ram” Celebrating the Living Legacy of the Ramayana

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) released its latest documentary film “Kan-Kan Mein Ram”, on 23rd July 2025 at a special screening in New Delhi. The event was graced by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who hailed the film as both a visual masterpiece and a cultural repository of universal values embedded in the Ramayana. He lauded INTACH’s decades-long contribution to preserving India's diverse cultural heritage.

The documentary explores the many living traditions of the Ramayana across India, showcasing ritual performances, folk art, and storytelling forms such as Yakshgana, Uppinakudru puppetry, Ravan Chaya, Sattriya dance, and more. It highlights how the epic continues to shape India’s cultural consciousness and identity. The film underscores INTACH’s dedication to safeguarding the country’s intangible heritage and inspiring collective pride in its cultural roots.
