The Sansad Ki Kala initiative is a celebration of India’s civilizational values, democratic ethos, and artistic excellence as reflected in the new Parliament building. The artworks and installations throughout the complex are carefully curated to embody India’s timeless cultural spirit, evolving traditions, and collective aspirations. Drawing from the country’s rich literary, iconographic, and architectural heritage, the artworks represent the living soul of Indian democracy.
Guardian statues at ceremonial entrances symbolise knowledge, resolve, and duty, while themed galleries such as Shilp Deergha, Sthapatya Deergha, and Sangeet Deergha portray India’s craft traditions, architectural marvels, and musical legacy. Signature installations like Manthan and Jan-Janani-Janmabhoomi highlight the inclusive, participatory essence of Indian society.
The Constitutional Gallery presents India’s democratic journey, from Vedic assemblies to the present, with recreated frescos from the original Constitution manuscript by Nandalal Bose’s team. The sacred Sengol, symbolising the transfer of power, anchors this narrative in India’s spiritual and historical continuity. Created by grassroots artisans and master artists alike, using diverse materials such as stone, brass, and wood, the art collection expresses India’s unity in diversity, making the new Parliament not only a legislative space but also a profound cultural landmark.
