To mark the global observance of World Environment Day 2025, the North Bengal Science Centre, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is organising a special programme on June 5, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. onwards at its premises in Matigara, Siliguri. The event aims to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and inspire collective action against plastic pollution. The programme includes a sapling plantation drive, an engaging popular science lecture by Dr. Ranadhir Chakraborty, and a fun quiz on nature, culminating in a prize distribution. Through this initiative, the Centre seeks to educate and motivate citizens, especially the younger generation, to become proactive stewards of the environment.
